An ecological lifestyle plays a major role for most Consonance members. There are also many members who advocate the ethics and lifestyle of minimalism. Through minimalism, they want to free themselves from psychological and physical baggage and have a minimal ecological footprint.

On dating apps and other dating sites on the internet, ecology, sustainability, and minimalism play almost no role. For people with sustainable and ecological lifestyles, the search for a partner and friends can be more difficult if they cannot find a place where ecologically and sustainably minded people can meet. Consonance, as a dating platform, represents such a place and has firmly established itself as the leading Green Dating platform in the German-speaking world for 16 years.

(2) Veganism and Vegetarianism in Online Dating

A plant‑based, vegan, and also vegetarian lifestyle is associated with greater sustainability. Vegans in particular oppose the exploitation of animals and advocate for abstaining from animal products.

According to scientific findings, vegan, plant‑based products burden the environment far less than animal products. A new study even shows that switching to a vegan lifestyle could halt climate change.

It is therefore all the more important that vegan and plant‑based considerations are also taken into account in matchmaking. In our matchmaking and friendship search at Consonance (Gleichklang), we therefore bring together people who want to live vegan and plant‑based together.

Dating for vegans and vegetarians at Consonance thus enables vegan and vegetarian members to find truly compatible partners and friends.

We also advocate for the vegan lifestyle and motivate our members to take the step toward a plant‑based way of life. (3) Animal Welfare and Animal Rights in Online Dating

Compassion for all sentient beings and commitment to their protection and rights – this is close to the hearts of many Consonance members. In doing so, they see themselves confronted with a world in which brutality toward animals prevails and the values of empathy and compassion are not understood.

Animal rights activists oppose the exploitation of animals and advocate for a vegan, plant‑based lifestyle.

In dating and partner search, animal rights activists are unfortunately at a disadvantage on typical dating apps or matchmaking services. This is different in the Consonance community:

In Consonance dating, animal rights activists find other animal rights activists and can thus work together in the resulting relationships for the protection and rights of animals. We are the dating platform for animal rights activists in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

(4) Justice and Compassion in Online Dating

Consonance members are committed to a compassionate world in which people encounter one another and their environment with solidarity and tolerance. In doing so, they stand on the side of people from the Global South and refugees who have been forced to flee due to global injustice, environmental destruction, and war.

Consonance members advocate that the main perpetrators of climate change bear the costs for it, rather than insulating themselves and their wealth from others. At Consonance (Gleichklang), we see a close connection between justice, solidarity, compassion, a plant‑based vegan lifestyle, and the commitment to human rights and animal rights.

On dating apps or matchmaking agencies, values of justice, solidarity, and compassion play hardly any role. Correspondingly, the situation in online dating is difficult for those who want to advocate for such values and work together on their implementation.

Consonance enables an alternative dating experience where people who want to work together for a better world can meet intentionally.

(5) Spirituality and Religion in Online Dating

Consonance is spiritually and religiously neutral, but opposes any form of religious fundamentalism, homophobia or transphobia, misogyny, racism, or right‑wing and völkisch forms of esotericism.

By contrast, all other forms of spirituality and religiosity are warmly welcome at Consonance. This of course also includes people who hold an agnostic or atheistic worldview.

Diverse Inclusion

For us, inclusion and accessibility mean not only providing effective online dating for people with disabilities, illnesses, mental health conditions, HIV, sexual dysfunctions, or autism. Online Dating for Long‑Term Singles and Absolute Beginners: Using our matchmaking based on compatibility of values and life goals, we also facilitate the partner search for long‑term singles and people without relationship experience. People without relationship experience (Absolute Beginners) can also specify in their search that it is important to them that potential partners accept their lack of relationship experience. In our matchmaking, we base partner suggestions on this acceptance.
Online Dating for Highly Sensitive Persons: In relationships with non‑highly sensitive individuals, highly sensitive persons often experience a lack of acceptance, appreciation, and consideration. Therefore, we ask all our members about their willingness and interest in entering into a relationship with a highly sensitive person. We then base our suggestions for our matchmaking for highly sensitive individuals on this. Likewise, highly sensitive individuals have the option to limit the suggestions to other highly sensitive individuals.
