Consonance (Gleichklang) Community
The Consonance (Gleichklang) community is a platform for getting to know nature-oriented, environmentally engaged, animal-friendly, and socially minded people who value genuine togetherness. At Consonance, people meet who want a more solidaristic society and who value social justice, freedom, human rights and animal rights, the preservation of the natural foundations of life on our planet, as well as a respectful way of interacting with one another.
WAYS OF INTERACTING
We ask our members to interact with each other in a caring, friendly, and loving way, even when there are differences of opinion or it becomes clear that two members who were suggested to one another are ultimately not a good match. Of course, openness and criticism are allowed and often helpful, as long as they remain constructive and do not take the form of insults or abuse. We ask for sensitivity and respect in how members treat one another. Consonance members commit themselves to respecting the emotional and physical boundaries of other members. This also includes accepting it when another member makes clear that further contact is no longer desired.
To make membership in the Consonance (Gleichklang) community as pleasant as it is successful for all members, the following specific ways of interacting apply to members and we ask that you observe them:
- I provide truthful information about myself that other members can rely on. Any photos I upload and state are showing me really do show me.
- If people other than myself appear in my photos, I have obtained their consent.
- I show my interest and seriousness by adding a free-text description so that other members can learn something about me beyond the standard information.
- I view all member profiles that are suggested to me in a timely manner and thereby show my fundamental appreciation and respect for the other members of the Consonance community.
- I respond promptly to all messages I receive from other members without exception. Even if I am not interested, I let the other member know this in a friendly way. I do not leave other members waiting without reason and do not leave them uncertain about where they stand.
- If I am currently no longer interested in new suggestions, I pause the matchmaking so that no unjustified expectations and hopes are raised for other members.
- I only take part in the partner matchmaking when I am genuinely open to a committed relationship. I only take part in friendship matchmaking when I am genuinely open to a friendship. I only participate in both options if I am truly open to both different forms of relationship; otherwise I focus on just one type of matchmaking.
- I treat all messages from other members, including their photos and free-text descriptions, as confidential. Without the member’s consent, I do not allow other people to see these texts or photos. This also applies when another member gives up anonymity and shares their name, phone number, other address data, or any other personal information with me.
- If I notice that another member is using the Consonance (Gleichklang) community to request money from other members, to deceive them, or to commit other criminal acts, I inform the Consonance team.
- I pay particular attention to avoiding sexual boundary violations and regard every “no” unconditionally as “no”. I check in with the other member to make sure that physical closeness is desired, in order to avoid misunderstandings.
RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONSONANCE TEAM
The Consonance team commits itself to following these rules:
- We answer all member questions. We do ask for understanding that an answer may sometimes take several days. If no reply has arrived by then, we ask you to follow up so we can make sure your request has not been lost.
- We try to implement all member suggestions as far as possible and in line with our basic approach. However, this can sometimes involve substantial programming effort, so we often have to ask for patience.
- We make every effort to solve all current problems of our members that are related to our community, to contribute to their solution, or at least to point out when a problem cannot be solved.
- No one’s membership at Consonance should ever fail because of financial hardship. We ask you to let us know if you are experiencing financial distress so that we can reduce your membership fee. If nothing else is possible, we will even reduce it to a purely symbolic fee of one euro.
- We do our best to mediate when there are serious problems or negative incidents between our members.
- We block members from further participation in the matchmaking when there are serious violations of our community rules. In doing so, we always hear both sides.
SUPPORTING THE COMMUNITY
There are no major financial backers behind the Consonance (Gleichklang) community, and membership fees are so low that they are currently not covering costs. To lead all members of our community to success in their partner search and search for friendship, we need a continuous influx of new members. The Consonance team does everything it can to make the community better known, and after deducting office costs and wages, all income is used exclusively for this task. Without a multimillion-dollar advertising budget, the success of the Consonance (Gleichklang) community depends above all on the support of its members.
To ensure sustainable growth and success of the Consonance (Gleichklang) community (and thus also your own chances of successful matchmaking), we ask all members, as far as possible, to take part in the following activities:
- Please tell your friends and acquaintances about Consonance. Everywhere there are people searching for friendship or partnership. Let them know that we exist.
- Please also make active use of the recommendation forms that you see directly in your member area. With just a few clicks, you can create and send an individually appealing recommendation.
- Please let us know about interesting opportunities to advertise for Consonance that we can put into practice.
- An online presence is extremely important: whether on your own websites, in forums, on recommendation sites, or anywhere else. Please draw attention to us and link to us wherever you can.
