Online Dating for Baháʼís at Consonance (Gleichklang)
Our dating community supports followers and sympathizers of the Baháʼí Faith in their partner search and friend search:
- We ask all our members to what extent they identify with the beliefs of the Baháʼí Faith.
- We also ask whether we should base our partner matching or friend matching on a positive connection to the Baháʼí Faith.
- If consideration of the Baháʼí religion is desired, we preferentially introduce members to each other who have such a positive connection to the Baháʼí Faith.
- Due to the very small number in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, however, suggestions will only rarely involve formal religious affiliation with the Baháʼí Faith. In most cases, it will be a positive basic attitude and interest in the Baháʼí Faith.
- Precisely because Baháʼís are distinguished by high tolerance and appreciation for all other religions, for most Baháʼís, partner suggestions and friend suggestions based on appreciation and sympathy for their faith will be sufficient.
Religion of the Baháʼís
There are approximately 8 million Baháʼís worldwide. In Germany, there are about 6,000 Baháʼís, in Austria 1,300 Baháʼís, and in Switzerland 1,200 Baháʼís. Near Frankfurt is the European House of Worship.
At the heart of this monotheistic faith are the unity of all people and religions, justice, solidarity, gender equality, and a harmonious relationship between religion and science. Abraham, Moses, Zoroaster, Krishna, Siddhartha Gautama, Jesus Christ, Muhammad, the Báb (forerunner of the Baháʼí Faith), and Baháʼu’lláh (founder of the Baháʼí Faith), as well as other religious founders, are considered mediators of God’s will.
The religion of the Baháʼís, or the Baháʼí Faith, has been subject to a history of persecution since its beginning, which continues to this day in its region of origin, Iran.
Numbers on Baháʼís in Consonance Dating
Since only about 8,500 Baháʼís live in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, it is not surprising that their number is also small at Consonance:
- Currently, 86 members indicate that they fully identify with the religion of the Baháʼís.
- 643 members answer the question “rather yes” as to whether they identify with the beliefs of the Baháʼí Faith.
- 885 members indicate that they would like to get to know Baháʼís as partners or friends.
The small numbers should not obscure the existing opportunities. After all, online dating is not about getting to know as many people as possible, but about meeting that one person with whom a happy and stable relationship can develop.
