• Consonance is not financed through advertising, add‑on features, data sales, or hidden costs, but through an annual collective participation contribution. This contribution is structured identically for everyone, socially tiered, and transparently regulated. Those who have little pay less; those in need pay almost nothing. There are no paid additional options and no sharing of data. The following sections explain openly and completely how our solidaristic fee model works and why we consciously chose it.

Annual Standard Rate: 129 EUR per year

(for members without financial hardship, for whom a moderate annual contribution is feasible)

Participation in Consonance is via an annual collective contribution of 129 EUR, collected once a year. If desired, the amount can also be paid in two monthly installments. This equates to approximately 10.75 EUR per month.

With this contribution, you can fully use all of Consonance’s offerings: partner search, friendship search, community and project contacts, as well as all contact lists. There are no additional costs, regardless of which search options you activate or deactivate.

The participation contribution is not a charge for individual usage units, but serves to collectively finance all of Consonance’s services. We do not sell likes or superlikes; there are no paid extra features and no hidden fees. All paying members have the same access to all offerings. We do not share any data and consciously avoid addictive or attention‑grabbing mechanisms, as are common on dating apps. Our offering is exclusively focused on sustainable relationships, friendships, and social connections.

The annual participation contribution becomes due again one year after the start of participation, unless participation has been terminated earlier.

Annual Reduced Rate of 79 EUR

For members for whom paying 129 EUR (even in two installments) would be truly difficult, we offer a reduced contribution of 79 EUR per year. We ask that you choose this option only if it is actually necessary, as the collective nature of our community is based on fairness and honesty.

The reduction can be selected directly during the registration process.

Solidarity Rate of 24 EUR in Cases of Material Hardship

Additionally, there is the option of a solidarity rate of 24 EUR per year if there is a very severe limitation in financial capacity. This rate can be requested via email at anfragen@gleichklang.de . The allocation is straightforward, confidential, and without any form of stigmatization.

Solutions in Acute Hardship

In cases of severe financial distress, the participation contribution can be further reduced – to 6 EUR per year or, in individual cases, even to a symbolic one euro. Again, a brief consultation with our team is sufficient.

Principles of Our Fees Explained – at Consonance (Gleichklang)

• We do not charge for individual services, such as the number of suggestions or messages. That would contradict our principles and would promote a system in which arbitrariness, buying matches, and distraction from real relationship‑seeking are central. Moreover, such individual billing would be pointless because members with few suggestions are often successful. We cannot “conjure up” suggestions when traits are rare (e.g., asexuality) or when various criteria are combined. We make suitable – not arbitrary – suggestions. Our support services and our information services are also collective services.
• That is why we bill all services collectively. All our work – programming, further development, support, information offerings, advertising campaigns, and social engagement – is not a collection of individual products but a long‑term process that unfolds over months and years. Every new member immediately benefits from the entire results of almost 20 years of development work. This must be understood in order to appreciate the fairness of our system.
• All paying users can use all services and decide for themselves which to take advantage of. New members benefit from everything built since 2006.
• Individual billing by time (a “duration fee”) would lead to completely absurd results. A member who finds a partner after two months would pay less than a member who searches unsuccessfully for eight months – even though the latter needs our support most urgently. Such a structure would be incompatible with the solidaristic character of our community.
• Because we do not charge duration‑based fees, there are also no refunds. Precisely this clear structure creates the planning security that enables us to maintain the solidaristic character of the community.
• The annually recurring contribution is therefore not a price for individual services, but a collective participation contribution with which members jointly support the platform – in the past, present, and future. It is precisely this that allows us to enable social participation and grant reductions, which in cases of genuine need can go down to 6 EUR per year or even, in individual cases, a symbolic one euro. Only through this collective financing can Consonance exist and realize its ecological and social values.
• Without our solidaristic approach of collective services, if we were purely cost‑driven, we would have to charge each participant a significantly higher fee. This would be due to the total development and marketing costs of our platform, which all participants can now access immediately and in full – effectiveness that has built up over years. But that would be neither socially feasible nor would it be met with understanding. We have therefore decided to apportion all costs collectively from the very first day of participation, while also ensuring full social reductions so that no one in our community falls through the cracks.
• Anyone who values us and wishes to remain part of the community pays a fee once a year. There are no other fees.
