Our Psychological Assessments at Consonance (Gleichklang)
Colloquially, people refer to “psych tests,” but we prefer the terms “psychological assessment procedures” or “psychological tests.” They can also be called personality tests or personality questionnaires. The term “psych test,” by contrast, is slang—often, procedures labeled as psych tests follow the motto “Make three crosses and I’ll tell you who you are,” rather than representing serious test procedures. In this respect, the Consonance (Gleichklang) tests / test procedures or personality tests are not “psych tests” either. Because our procedures are based on a solid foundation and capture those characteristics of personality and behavioral style that have been discovered and made measurable through decades of psychological research. This has little or nothing to do with the usual psych tests found on the internet.
Thus, our two personality tests, the Consonance-6-Factor-Inventory (G6FI) and the Consonance Personality Inventory (GPI), are based on the Five-Factor Model of Personality, which captures the best-replicated, general, and relatively language- and culture-independent factors of human personality. This is also referred to as basic tendencies of personality. For both test procedures, we were able to replicate the theoretically expected factor structure and collect numerous external validation findings.
Our test for assessing love styles, the Consonance Inventory of Love Styles and Relationship Styles (GILB), enables differentiated assessment of, among other things, the well-studied and internationally known 6 love styles according to Lee. For friendship, we have developed our own adaptation with the Consonance Inventory of Friendship Styles and Relationship Forms (GISGF).
With the help of these and our other psychological tests and personality questionnaires, we can capture important fundamental dimensions of human experience and behavior.
